In Osaka, Yuji Nakagawa, the owner of Taninokisha Mountain Gear, serves as an ambassador, with Yamatomichi Kyoto as an active HLC Place*. We actively host talks, workshops, and other programs while also incorporating Nakagawa's specialty in fastpacking programs.

*Yamatomichi HLC PLACE is the hub for our HLC activities in each area. It will serve as a place to hold programs, meet and exchange knowledge with other ultralight hikers.

HLC Kansai ambassador

While wandering around with a camera in hand, Yuji became fascinated by the lifestyle and culture of mountain tribes in Tibet, Karakoram, Ladakh and their overwhelming landscapes. In April 2020, he opened his own shop, Taninokisha Moutain Gear, while running an apparel company that sales handicrafts from around Asia and the Middle East. His favorite thing to do is go on challenging hikes with ultralight gear and take a little bit of hard liquor for the night.
