COMMUNITY
Yamatomichi HLC is a community that shares the joy of ultralight hiking, pursues its possibilities, and builds its culture.
Activities are carried out at eight locations, including seven across Japan and one in Taiwan, with each area managed by local ambassadors. Various programs are conducted to build richer connections between hiking, life, and community.
Taiwan is home to 270 peaks over 3,000 m, including its highest, Yushan (Jade Mountain), at 3,952 m. Beyond its tropical climate, the island offers dramatic mountain landscapes, diverse vegetation, and a wide range of hiking conditions.
And what better way to kick off the festival than with a hike? Hiking Jam invites participants to take the scenic route to the venue, with specially selected trails to explore along the way.
Held in a different region each year, the festival is a chance to experience what makes hiking in Taiwan so special.
